HAMBURG, Germany (TNA) – As if things couldn’t get worse for Britney Spears, now comes word that sharks hate having sex to her music.

That’s the bizarre discovery made by researchers at Sea Life Timmendorf, a sea life center in Hamburg, Germany.

 German researchers say sharks won't
have sex to Britney Spears' music.

Researchers played music by various artists in hopes of getting the sharks to mate and while the creatures loved getting down and dirty whenever they heard the Salt-N-Pepa song “Push It,” they didn’t want to hit it one more time for the Pop Tart.

Public relations director Katrin Froemsdorf doesn’t know why Spears’ songs have such a negative effect on shark copulation, but says “there was definitely nothing happening” between the animals when her music was being played.

However, the sharks did get hot and bothered when they heard the Joe Cocker song “You Can Leave Your Hat On,” and, as a result, Froemsdorf speculates the deeper frequency of male voices may be more sexually stimulating to sharks than females.

“Push It,” with its higher vocal frequency, was a notable exception. Froemsdorf figures the song’s hypnotic beat has the same effect on sharks as humans.

Froemsdorf tells Wireless Flash News Service: “Maybe sharks are like humans. They can’t resist dancing when Salt-N-Pepa comes on.”
