Shahrazad Encinias
Porn stars have the experience, and college girls have the curiosity. So, what happens when you pair a hot female porn star with an equally hot coed for a little “girl talk?” You get a refreshingly candid confab – something we call “Girl on Girl.” Shahrazad Encinias stars as our college girl. Each week she’ll speak with a different star about lust, love, porn, and naughtiness.
This week: Gianna Lynn
The Naughty American: How did you get into the porn industry?
Gianna Lynn: I got into porn approximately three years ago. I was at work with a home loans company. I pretty much got the chance thrown in my lap. A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend, one of those stories, she came to me and offered and I took it.
TNA: Any regrets?
GL: Not at all. Absolutely not. I mean, there are definitely a bunch of hardships but I’m definitely trying hard. But that comes with everything.
TNA: What’s your favorite part about being in the industry?
GL: The people that I meet. I have met real, cool and awesome genuine people. I’ve met some of my best friends here.
TNA: That’s cool. Have you dealt with any stalkers?
GL: Yes, I have! I’ve dealt with quite an array of interesting people. I used to go to school at this community college and while I was attending class I wouldn’t pay too much attention to anybody else. I would get random e-mails from people saying, “You’re not in school today.” The most disturbing thing happened like a year ago, I found out that somebody had posted my real name on the Internet. They said, “Oh, her real name is blah blah blah and she goes to school. I go to school with her, I actually have class with her and she’s not like her movies. She’s usually quiet in class.” So, it was really bizarre.
TNA: That must suck to pretty much have no privacy.
GL: Yeah, but it comes with the territory. It’s more of an annoyance. Nobody is really harmful or anything.
TNA: So, you haven’t had any kidnapping threats?
GL: No. I’ve gotten, like, letters and stuff, but nothing really harmful. Everything seems to be pretty harmless.
TNA: Do you get recognized a lot in public?
GL: It depends. I get recognized in random places. It’s fine. People are usually nice and cool about it. But there are times when it’s really uncomfortable.
TNA: Do you get dressed knowing that you’re going to get recognized in public?
GL: No. I’m very low-key. I dress in sweats and sneakers.
TNA: What is your ethnic background?
GL: My mother is half-Filipino and my father is half-Spanish and half-Filipino.
TNA: Have you ever been to the Philippines?
GL: Yes, I was born there. I came out here when I was 4.
TNA: Are you a military brat?
GL: No. That’s funny you say that!
TNA: Do you get asked that a lot?
GL: No. That’s actually the first time I’ve been asked that.
TNA: Really? I’m from San Diego and I’m used to almost all Filipinos having some sort of relation with the military.
GL: Oh yeah.
TNA: I read on your MySpace that you have a tattoo you really don’t like. What is it of? And where is it?
GL: Yeah, it’s getting removed. It’s on my lower back. It’s a tattoo of a fairy in a wine glass and it has vines around it. I got it when I was really young and rebellious. I just decided it’s time for me to remove it. It just doesn’t match the rest of my tattoos. And I don’t feel as passionate about it as I used to.
TNA: When you came from the Philippines with your family where did you guys settle?
GL: We went to L.A.
TNA: Growing up in L.A. you were exposed a lot to the entertainment business. Did you ever think about becoming an entertainer growing up?
GL: Not really. I wanted to be a dentist when I was younger. It’s a little different.
TNA: How random.
GL: Yeah. I was kind of sheltered growing up and I was more focused on my studies.
TNA: Did you go to college straight out of high school?
GL: Actually I did, but I decided it wasn’t the thing for me at the moment. It’s not the thing right now, but I do plan to finish my degree.
TNA: What kind do music do you listen to?
GL: I listen to everything. I just don’t listen to country. I’m mostly into rock. Classic rock. I like Guns N’ Roses.
TNA: Are you a fan of “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels”?
GL: Not really. I don’t really watch that much television.
TNA: So, what do you do in your free time?
GL: I like to paint. I’m an artist. I go to museums, I go to the beach and I just watch TV.
TNA: What kind of art do you like to do?
GL: Probably sketching or I’ll paint. It’s really fun!
TNA: Have you ever designed something that you thought was pretty cool and got a tattoo of it?
GL: Well, that was the fairy and that really didn’t work out.
TNA: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done in both porn and in your personal life?
GL: Getting into porn is the craziest thing I’ve ever done.
TNA: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done?
GL: As far as the weirdest thing I’ll probably have to say my obsession with Disney subliminal messages. A lot of people say that Disney puts subliminal messages in their films, but I don’t know. I like to look for stuff like that.
TNA: How weird. I know about the penis in the castle on the cover of “The Little Mermaid” and the one about “The Lion King” where in the desert the cracks spell “sex.” I don’t know of other ones.
GL: Supposedly in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” there’s a scene when Jessica Rabbit flies out of the car and her dress goes up you can sort of see that she’s not wearing panties. Oh, and then when Baby Herman goes inside a ladies skirt, well, he flips off the camera. See, I’m full of those weird little knowledge bits.
TNA: That’s a first. Are you in a relationship right now?
GL: Yes, I am.
TNA: Is it a guy or a girl?
GL: It’s a guy.
TNA: Have you ever been in a relationship with a female that was more than just sex?
GL: Sort of. It was definitely an experience. She was more of a good friend. So, yes and no.
TNA: What kind of music puts you in the mood for sex?
GL: Trance music.
TNA: Do you go out clubbing a lot?
GL: I used to, but now not really. Not since I’ve turned 21. It’s true though, that when you turn 21 you just lose interest in going out as much as before because now it’s legal.
TNA: For some people. Not for me. That’s why I’m so broke.
GL: Well, yeah, going out all the time, that’s expensive, but going out every once in a while, that’s cool.
TNA: Would you set up a friend with a porn star?
GL: No. I don’t think I would. I haven’t really thought about that but I don’t think so.
TNA: Have you ever had a friend ask you to set them up?
GL: Yes, I have, but I’m really protective of both sides.
TNA: What has been your best and worst date?
GL: Nothing really stands out in my head right now, but I know I have a good one. Before my boyfriend, I didn’t really date as much because dates usually end up sucking. OK, I got a good one. I had a date with a girl and her husband ended up coming along. So, that kind of threw things off. It was supposed to be just her and me. I just wanted to get to know her and he showed up and things didn’t really turn out that great. He ruined everything. And I had to pay for everything.
TNA: That sucks. Did you also pay for the husband?
GL: I did offer.
TNA: But not for the husband, right?
GL: He and his wife got into a fight. And I was like, “This is not something I want to get into. Just get me away.”
TNA: How awkward.
GL: Right? Oh and another bad date I had was with this guy I met at a grocery store. He was a very nice guy and I think he was in his 40s or something. He just went through a very messy divorce, he was telling me. We went on one date; it was very casual nothing too big. During the whole time, his wife and kids kept calling him.
TNA: That’s uncomfortable.
GL: Yeah.
TNA: I hate it when you go out on a date with somebody and they keep on getting text messages and they answer back.
GL: Yeah, that’s annoying.
TNA: I don’t like to go out on dates because I just hate it.
GL: I know what you mean.
TNA: How long have you been with your boyfriend?
GL: Almost nine months.
TNA: How did you guys meet?
GL: Through a friend in porn. We met at a birthday party and he was friends with my friend’s boyfriend.
TNA: What do you look for in a guy?
GL: Compatibility.
TNA: What about physically?
GL: I don’t really have a type. Compatibility, like chemistry. It’s more, if I get along with that person.
TNA: So, you don’t really care about looks?
GL: Yes and no, but I’ve dated a lot of hot guys, but they all sucked. They could be assholes too.
TNA: What turns you off and what turns you on?
GL: What turns me off is someone who is conceited, and improper grammar.
TNA: Does your family know about what you do?
GL: They’re accepting of it, but they’re not too happy.
TNA: What role do you prefer to play, the Latina or the Asian?
GL: Probably the Latina part.
TNA: Why is that?
GL: Honestly, I’ve always hung around with my Asian side of my family, so in acting I like my Spanish side.
TNA: Do you speak Spanish?
GL: No, but I’d like to.
TNA: How about Tagalog?
GL: I used to but I lost it, which is very unfortunate.
TNA: What kind of movies do you like?
GL: I like comedies. I like Will Ferrell movies.
TNA: Me too. I love “Old School.” Have you seen “Blades of Glory?”
GL: Yes, that is one of my favorite movies. I also really like “Anchorman,” that’s my favorite.
TNA: Do you like shopping?
GL: I’m not trendy. I get really impatient. What’s the worst thing is that I get real picky. I have to love something before I buy it. I’m the worst person to go shopping with. I’m the girl that if I need shoes I’ll go to at least three different stores because I have to find out if I don’t like other shoes at another store.
TNA: I’m the same way. Do you like to travel?
GL: Yes. When I’m feature dancing I get to travel a lot, but it does get exhausting sometimes. It’s cool to see different parts of the country and see different lifestyles.
TNA: Out of all the places that you’ve been to, what are your favorite cities?
GL: Miami and New Orleans.
TNA: Why?
GL: Miami was the first place I went to for Spring Break and it’s such a relaxed atmosphere with the beach and everyone is so nice. And in New Orleans it’s so beautiful. The city is so quaint and the architecture is unbelievable. It’s just such an interesting town. Especially with the whole Creole culture. It’s an interesting lifestyle.
TNA: I would like to go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. As for Miami, I can’t wait to go! I have plans to go there over the summer.
GL: New Orleans is beautiful. When I went there I didn’t really party, but I did get to see a lot. I’m excited for you to go to Miami. You’ll have fun.
TNA: I’m excited to go too. I think mainly because I’m obsessed with “CSI: Miami.” Have you seen that show?
GL: No.
TNA: You should, it’s awesome! Do you watch a lot of TV?
GL: Not really. I watch cartoons. I like to watch “South Park,” “Family Guy” and “The Simpsons.”
TNA: Those are good cartoons to watch.
GL: I’m just a big little kid.
TNA: I thought you were going to say you like anime or something like that.
GL: No, not anime.
TNA: Do you have any hidden talents?
GL: I have really strong toes. I can write with my feet. I know it’s weird. That’s another weird thing about me.
TNA: That’s funny!
GL: I’m really into grammar and English.
TNA: You’re the second person that tells me that they’re really into grammar.
GL: Really? Who’s the first one?
TNA: Roxy DeVille.
GL: Oh my goodness! Yes, I can agree that she definitely is. She is very smart and articulate. It just bothers me when people make grammatical errors when they’re typing. Especially on MySpace, I like to make sure that all the words are spelled correct and that there’s correct punctuation.
