LOS ANGELES (TNA) – As I drive through a winding road in the Hollywood Hills, passing modern multi-million-dollar hilltop estates belonging to movie stars and musicians, it seems like a typical sunny day in Los Angeles.

But today isn’t typical. At least not for “Becca Blossoms,” a Midwestern blonde who’s arriving at a home in this toney neighborhood to make her debut in porn.

The house being used for the shoot in the Hills is appropriately large and gated. Vehicles, mostly trucks, line the street side in front of the home, and tools and cables are strewn about the driveway, suggesting maintenance workers are being employed for the day. It’s doubtful any passerby would suspect all the commotion is for sex.

It’s chaos inside the house. I enter and see a naked couple – porn stars Billy Glide and Mariah Milano – standing near a couch amid clothed people.

Blossoms hasn’t arrived yet, but the place already smells of sex. As I wait for her, Glide screws Milano in reverse cowgirl, missionary and doggystyle positions.

In between takes, Blossoms walks in.

We make small talk, and I learn she’s a Chicago-area native now living in Milwaukee. But we soon turn quiet when we hear “Rolling!” in the next room. We’re left to stare around the room and listen to the sounds of a slurpy blowjob.

“Did you bring a wardrobe?” one NA staffer whispers to Blossoms.

“She just told me to bring this,” Blossoms responds, motioning to the outfit she’s sporting.

The staffer nods and hands a sheaf of papers to Blossoms, who is surprised to discover there’s actually paperwork in the porn industry.

As Blossoms makes it official, a misplaced stage light, accidentally switched on, shines down on her from behind.

“Oh fuck, that feels so good!”

Those gleeful words don’t come from Blossoms, but from Milano, who’s in the next room taking a pounding from Glide. As Blossoms sits patiently, getting made up, she can’t help but listen to the sounds of the new path she’s taken.

Once the scene ends, Tommy Pistol, the director of Blossoms’ shoot, approaches her to discuss what’s going to happen. She listens intently as he describes her soon-to-be role as a MILF and the sexual encounter she’ll be having with the boyish-looking male performer Chris Johnson.

Before today, Blossoms – an entrepreneur in her previous life – made two attempts at entering the porn industry, but to no avail. In one instance, all five of her would-be scenes in Florida were canceled; she killed her second effort due to what she says was a bad experience with an agent.

Still interested in performing, she saw another chance when Naughty America threw a promotional party in May at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. She was there with her fiancé, who attended the party to interview various porn stars for his access-cable television show, “Psycho Babble.”

“When I saw you guys and Naughty America in Chicago at Joe’s, I decided to talk to someone,” Blossoms said.

So she did. Blossoms talked to a Naughty America producer, and stayed in contact with her as weeks went by. Eventually both parties reached an agreement – foregoing any agent interaction – and Blossoms was soon on a flight to Los Angeles.

This time, though, it’s for real; she’s going to be performing, and she knows it.

The night before her scene Becca felt both nervous and excited. Upon arriving at her hotel, the first thing she did was call her fiancé.

“My fiancé is very supportive, so he helps to keep me relaxed,” she says.

Their relationship is obviously very open; they both watch porn and have even have their own collection of homemade sex videos. Blossoms’ man even would have come out to watch and support her new venture, but work is keeping him in the Midwest.

“We’re very sexual, my fiancé and I. We do the swinging thing,” Blossoms said. “[Porn] just seems like the next fun thing to try.”

And that’s exactly how Blossoms wants it to be.

“I want it to be fun,” she says. “I’m in a situation where I have to work. I want to do it at a comfortable pace and have fun with it.”

Blossoms adds that she also hopes the experience opens the door for more opportunities, as long as it turns out to be positive.

“I just don’t want to screw up,” she says, hints of nervousness in her voice. “I’m not afraid I won’t go through with it. I want to make a good scene. I don’t want people to walk away and say, ‘Oh my gosh, that was awful. Don’t bring her back.’

“I just want the experience to be good, and possibly do more in the future.”

Despite wanting to nail her performance, Blossoms knows little about her scene except that she’s having sex in the Hollywood Hills home.

“I think it’s just boy-girl,” she says. “That’s all I know.”

Eventually she discovers her work mate is Johnson, a 25-year-old adventure seeker, who, prior to entering the porn industry, worked on an oil rig off the Louisiana coast and as a skydive instructor in Hawaii.

Blossoms also gets to know Pistol, the tattooed performer-turned-director who’ll be telling her when and how to fuck Johnson.

In the scene, Blossoms, 34, plays a mother who is at home while her son’s friend – Johnson’s character – is visiting. Johnson is directed to accidentally sit on a batch of cupcakes on the kitchen counter, leading to his undress and seduction.

I think it’s corny,” Blossoms laughs about the plot. “But OK, whatever.”

Although Blossoms is to play a cougar-ish MILF in the scene, she says she never holds that role in real life. She has reservations about having sex with younger men – 20, 21 years old – but is open to it for work.

“The younger ones … if they seem too young it might be kind of weird,” Blossoms says. “I prefer the guys closer to my age, but I can get over it.”

The nine years Blossoms has over Johnson doesn’t appear to be an issue for her. As she sits in the make-up chair, she still hasn’t met him, though; she’s only seen him passing through the hallways.

“That was him, right?” she asks pointing to a moving figure. “I’ve seen him. We haven’t been introduced.”

Momentarily, Blossoms will be having sex with this man she has yet to meet. She’s never even watched a porn shoot before, and now she’s about to perform in one and she’s not exactly sure what to do.

“I ask here and there, ‘What should I do? What should I do? What makes a good scene?’ They just tell me to be relaxed, and I’ll do fine.”

Becca’s hair and make-up are finished, and she’s completed her paperwork. By now the other shoot is wrapped, so her time to become a star arrives.
She’s off to get photographed naked, and will then be having on-camera sex.

“Good luck, and have fun,” I say.

As a still photographer snaps Blossoms, I speak with Tommy Pistol about first-time performers, who take up about half of his shoots.

“I tell them, ‘I want to make you as comfortable as possible,’” Pistol says. “No matter what the girl is – experienced, non-experienced – that’s my job, to make them as comfortable as possible and get a good performance out of them.”

Pistol knows the pressures of first-time porn jitters. His first performance was atop a roof in New York City, where he performed with Joanna Angel for her company, Burning Angel.

Because the scene wasn’t being filmed on a closed set, the crew couldn’t shoo away residents and their friends, several of whom had gathered on the rooftop to see what a bunch of cameras and naked people were doing up there.

Despite such a large crowd for a first-timer, Pistol managed to perform.

“If that wasn’t jumping in with two feet, I don’t know what is,” he says.

The biggest problem with most new women in the industry, Pistol says, isn’t the actual sex, but the dialogue during the sex.

“They don’t know what to say,” he explains.

This, however, can be solved with a little coaching, he says, adding that he tells a newbie to try to be as natural as possible.

“What do you do that makes you want to be a porn star?” is a common question Pistol will ask a new talent.

But most importantly, he gives them a confidence boost.

“I tell them, ‘Just know you’re gorgeous. Know that every guy that sees you is going to want you.’”

The director, however can only do so much. When it comes down to it, only the performers can create a quality sex scene. And while the newbie is wondering what to do, it’s up to her co-star to take up the slack.

“Make her feel like fucking gold,” is what Pistol tells any male talent working with a newcomer.

Cue Chris Johnson.

After a short off-camera introduction to Johnson, Blossoms is on a couch with him, giving him a blowjob.

Former performer Nicole Sheridan is snapping photos of the two in sexual positions, instructing Blossoms on how to look, how to act, how to feel.

“Baby you’ve got great tits,” Sheridan shouts as she pops off a flurry of shots.

After the photo session, Johnson steps outside for a cigarette, and I hear his first take on Blossoms.

“Just from the stills, I can tell this girl’s going to be good,” he says. “She was totally into it.”

And Johnson can tell. Although he’s only been in the porn industry for eight months, he’s attained enough experience to know what it takes to make a good scene.

His advice to Becca: “Just have sex like you’re having sex at home and I’ll put you where you need to be.”

In the kitchen, where the opening scene is being shot, Blossoms awaits her cue. She and Johnson already completed a walk-through of the scene, and now it’s time for the real deal.

“Action!” Pistol shouts.

The scene begins and Blossoms’ Chicago accent comes out. After about a minute or so of dialogue, a few logistical problems are discovered and Pistol yells to cut.

A few takes later, Pistol whispers to me that he’s already noted a change in Blossoms.

“I can just see the awkwardness melting away.”

Minutes later, following an applaud for the kitchen scene’s final take, Blossoms’ own words, along with the broad smile on her face, support Pistols observation.

“I think I’m getting more comfortable,” she says.

“She’s doing great … with the dialogue and everything,” Johnson chimes in.

“Well, you’re helping me,” she says, giggling.

Thus far, the energy appears high and positive on Becca Blossoms’ first shoot.

Now comes the hard part.

Blossoms is sitting naked on a couch listening to advice from cast and crew regarding her upcoming sex scene.

Johnson, who is tugging on his penis to keep it firm, tells her to be vocal in her dialogue, moaning and groaning, and to keep it continuous throughout the scene.

“The louder, the better,” he says.

“Just be happy, let it go, do not hold back,” Pistol adds.

Blossoms takes in all the suggestions and directions, nods her head and says she’s ready.

Pistol calls for action, and the scene begins with Blossoms making out with Johnson for a few minutes before putting her mouth on his penis.

The director cuts the scene when a technical difficulty interrupts the shoot. The crew cracks jokes with Blossoms as the problem is investigated, lightening a mood that could be somewhat heavy for a newbie.

“Let’s not make her laugh. She’s giving head,” Pistol kids. “It might come out of her nose.”

Once the technical issue is resolved, the shoot continues where it left off – with Blossom’s head bobbing up and down in Johnson’s lap. The action, for the most part, is silent, which creates a bit of awkwardness and apparently prompts Blossoms to halt giving head and turn to Pistol.

“So what should we do now?”

Pistol cuts the scene. He tells Blossoms to take his direction – stay in one position for a few minutes, then segue into another – but to be natural about it at the same time. He praises her for her diligence, then offers some suggestions.

“You’re doing it good. Just keep the tempo more passionate. Take your time, let some spit drool out, stroke it, lick it.”

Blossoms heeds the director’s advice and, as the scene continues, seems to get more and more comfortable having sex with a stranger. She moans and yells as Johnson fucks her in spoon, missionary and cowgirl positions on the couch, and gets so into it that she doesn’t realize she’s not opening up to the camera.

The one thing the crew continuously reminds her of, however, is to talk more. Just as Pistol had earlier stated, it appears that dialogue during sex is quite difficult for a newbie.

There aren’t many occasions when it’s appropriate to applaud after a man blasts a load of semen onto a woman’s face, but this is one of those times.

“Becca Blossoms’ first scene!” Tommy Pistol yells after Chris Johnson delivers the money shot. I partake in the clapping and whistling that echoes throughout the airy home.

Blossoms towels off her face and laughs. She appears happy with her performance, or with the fact that she just got laid; possibly a combination of the two.

Despite her elation, Blossoms admits that she has some things she’ll need to get used to if she wants to continue to perform in the future, such as the actual sex.

“You’re not naturally having sex,” she tells me after showering, adding that the positions were at times awkward because everything was being done for the camera, not for her own personal pleasure.

“Sometimes I didn’t want to stop when we stopped.”

Despite all the praise she’s getting from everyone, Blossoms credits Johnson for guiding her through, positioning her correctly to make her first skin flick successful.

And unlike some other newbies who have tried their hand at the porn industry, Blossoms isn’t making her first skin flick her last; she’s scheduled for more Naughty America shoots, and if she gets an agent, possibly projects with other adult entertainment companies.

According to Johnson, practice could make perfect for Becca Blossoms.

“She’s a good feature if she sticks with it.”
