Marijuana Smokers March To Their Own Bong
APRIL 30, 2008
NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Thousands of people are getting fired up and taking their tokin' to the streets.
Saturday, May 3 marks the 10th Annual Worldwide Marijuana March, which will draw nearly a million people in 240 cities -- from Albuquerque to Zaragoza, Spain -- to strut through the streets and raise awareness for the legalization of marijuana.
Even with the march's mission, creator Dana Beal says the pot paraders will keep their joints loose by tokin'
during the trek.
"Officially, we're complying with the law," he said. "But there will be some smoking going on. If people want to do some civil disobedience, I can't tell them not to."
The march will also feature smokin' speakers and bands, but Beal is still unsure about two "high"-profile celebrity guests.
"Willie Nelson may be doing the Austin, Texas, march already," he said. "And I know Mischa Barton smokes, but I don't know if we'll get her."
