Girl On Girl: Amber Peach
Shahrazad Encinias
| May 14,2008
Porn stars have the experience, and college girls have the curiosity. So, what happens when you pair a hot female porn star with an equally hot coed for a little “girl talk?” You get a refreshingly candid confab – something we call “Girl on Girl.” Shahrazad Encinias stars as our college girl. Each week she’ll speak with a different star about lust, love, porn, and naughtiness.
This week: Amber Peach
The Naughty American: How long have you been in the industry?
Amber Peach: I’m going on five years. Actually five years this month!

After 5 years in porn, Amber Peach is planning on retiring later this year and save her sexiness for her own Web site.
TNA: Congratulations!
AP: Yeah! It’s been a while.
TNA: What got you into porn?
AP: Nothing in particular. I had moved. I was in college in Alabama and it wasn’t working out in college. I moved to California and needed a job and I liked sex and it paid the rent, so it worked out.
TNA: What was your major in college?
AP: Nothing! That was the problem. I didn’t know what I was doing. I hadn’t declared a major. I was struggling and stripping at night, so it just seemed really pointless to me.
TNA: I’ve noticed you don’t have a Southern accent. Have you gone to speech classes?
AP: No! Everyone tells me that. I actually pick up other peoples accents. I don’t mean to, but it’s just something I do. I lost it real quickly, but I’ve never had a bad accent though.
TNA: What has been the highlight of your career so far?
AP: I don’t know. Probably just being recognized is always kind of a highlight. It just seems weird to me because I’m not one of those people that like to be in the spotlight. It’s very strange when I get recognized in public. It was actually happening a lot. I finally cut my hair off and dyed it, now I don’t get it quite enough. I was at the supermarket and really weird places and people were just screaming my name! It was nice, but it was weird too and kind of embarrassing.
TNA: What has been the weirdest place you’ve been recognized?
AP: Probably the grocery store and a hotel once. I was actually going to the hotel to do a photo shoot and one of the bellhops actually started screaming at me and asking me for my autograph. It was really strange! He was literally across the lobby and it was a really quiet lobby with the music and all of a sudden I start hearing my name. It was funny!
TNA: Because of your celebrity status have you had to deal with any stalkers?
AP: Not too bad, in person. I had one guy, I don’t know if you should publish this because he’ll probably read it, but I put that I was going to be at a party. It was a friend’s birthday party and the guy flew from Baltimore to be at the party where he could meet me in person and had like roses and candy. He was really nice about it because I was also hosting the party, so I was like, “That’s very nice of you. I hope you have fun at the party, but I have duties I have to take care of being the host.” It was kind of a long way to go to meet me.
TNA: You’re a porn celebrity. Of course he’s going to go the distance. I read that you have had a death threat. Is that true?
AP: Yes! It was really weird! My friend Nicki Hunter had cancer and we were doing a benefit at the Playboy Mansion for her. I was trying to get people to either donate to the charity or come to the event. And some random crazy guy started e-mailing me like death threats, like, “Fuck your charity! I’m going to put a bullet in your head!” I’m like, “What is your problem? This is crazy! I didn’t do anything to you.” It was really strange.

Peach used to be recognized in public a lot till she cut off her hair and dyed it.
TNA: Did you ever find out who it was?
AP: No. It was all online, so who knows?
TNA: That is so creepy.
AP: I didn’t really take it so seriously. It was probably some lonely guy in his mom’s basement.
TNA: It’s still creepy. Do you travel back and forth a lot from Alabama?
AP: I went back for Christmas. I’m actually retiring at the end of this month and moving back to the South.
TNA: You’re retiring?
AP: Yes. I’m retiring performing for other people. I’ll still be working for my Web site. I actually just re-released my Web site a couple weeks ago. I’m going to try and go back to school. At least take some classes I’m actually interested in.
TNA: Is there anything specific you’ve become interested in within the past five years?
AP: I like production and I’ve always been really good with business. I’ll probably take some Web classes too.
TNA: That’s cool.
AP: Just because I have my own Web site it would be cool to check up on it and see if [the Webmaster is] doing his job.
TNA: Are you into both guys and girls? What do you look for in either sex?
AP: Yeah. It sounds cliché, but personality. Obviously if they’re scary ugly it would be hard to overlook that, but personality is what I look for.
TNA: So you’re not into the physical aspect of someone?
AP: No. That is definitely not the first thing I look at.
TNA: What’s the weirdest thing you have ever done?
AP: It’s funny because when you’re in porn you do a lot of things that if you weren’t in porn you would think are weird, but once you get in porn they’re normal. I don’t really know. I taught my friend how to do anal sex!
TNA: Really?
AP: But it’s not really weird to me anymore.
TNA: What do you mean by you taught your friend?
AP: I don’t know how we got on the subject, but it was years ago. We got on the subject of anal sex. I don’t know if you know this, but there are two openings, two holes. There’s one on the outside and one a little further in, but when you’re having anal sex you have to get through both of them before it feels comfortable. I was randomly explaining it to my friend. Then I demonstrated later!
TNA: You can be a sex coach.
AP: He said he still hasn’t got over it!
TNA: Does size matter?
AP: Not really. It does for anal sex. It only stretches so far comfortably, but as long as it’s not an extreme either way it’s not bad.
TNA: Sounds painful if it’s too big.
AP: Yeah!
TNA: What turns you on and off?
AP: A lot of it is mental for me. I guess for physical, women kissing and being totally into it is such a turn-on. Vanity is a turn-off. I hate vain people. I have dated a lot of mainstream models and some porn guys and it’s the worst thing. If they think they’re the prettiest thing in the room, it’s such a turn-off.
TNA: What kind of music do you listen to?
AP: A little of everything. I’m really across the board. I listen to everything from the Wicked soundtracks to Ludacris. It’s really random.
TNA: What kind of music puts you in the mood for sex?
AP: I don’t really listen to music for sex.
TNA: There’s no song that just gets you going?
AP: Old school R&B, I guess. Some old Jodeci!
TNA: Is it a turn-off when someone you’re interested in happens to be a fan?
AP: Yes! It is actually. Three months ago I met this guy and I didn’t know he knew who I was and he’s like an NBA player and he’s really cute. We went on a date and he acted really shy around me. Then I thought, “Maybe he’s just shy.” I find out later that he was a fan. It was just weird! It kind of seemed like it wasn’t a random occurrence that he met me, maybe he sought me out. I stopped answering his calls because I don’t know how to approach that. It was weird! I feel bad because he still every once in a while texts me, but it has been three months. It was such a weird situation.

Peach is a fervent supporter of Barack Obama and is volunteering on his campaign.
TNA: I can see it being weird because then you don’t know if he’s interested in you.
AP: Or trying to get me into bed. I thought I just randomly met him, but to find out he’s a fan of mine then I’m starting to think, “Maybe I didn’t randomly meet him. Maybe he set it up.” It’s just really weird.
TNA: Or really romantic….
AP: I don’t really look at it that way! I mean you could, but no. It’s just creepy.
TNA: I noticed in your MySpace that you’re proud of yourself for voting. Are you politically active?
AP: Yes. As much as I can be with who I am because some things can actually hurt more than help.
TNA: If you don’t mind me asking, who did you vote for in the primaries?
AP: Barack!
TNA: What do you like about him?
AP: I like him because he is newer and hasn’t been corrupted by the political system. But, I think it’s less what I like about him and more what I dislike about Hillary. She just seems so mechanical to me.
TNA: She’s kind of scary.
AP: Yeah. Every time I hear her speak it sounds like she’s reading from the teleprompter. I just don’t want someone like that running the country. Maybe she has a wind-up thing in the back of her neck!
TNA: Have you ever set up a friend with a porn star?
AP: I don’t really set up friends, period. I would introduce them, but that’s it. Plus, I don’t want to get blamed if it doesn’t work out. Honestly, most porn chicks are crazy, me included!
TNA: I’ll take your word for it.
AP: We are! I’ll openly admit it.
TNA: When did you realize you went from a porn star to the status of a porn celebrity?
AP: I don’t know. It still surprises me when people recognize me. Especially now since I’m retiring the new guys come on set saying, “I know everything about porn. I’m a porn star.” They’re vain. Then the directors are like, “Dude, she’s been in the business five years. Don’t talk to her that way.” It’s funny!
TNA: So, you have experienced a lot of porn newbies who don’t know who you are?
AP: Yeah, they don’t know who I am. I guess it’s kind of a thing for porn guys to want to teach the girls, they want to school them.
TNA: How annoying.
AP: It’s annoying! And there’s nothing they can teach me! It’s that whole vanity thing that porn guys get.
TNA: I don’t know much about that, so I’ll take your word for it again.
AP: I think it’s something about when people tell them that they’re special because they can fuck. It means more to them than it does to women.
TNA: Do you think it’s harder to be a male porn star or a female porn star?
AP: I think it’s about equal. It’s harder in different ways. It’s physically harder for guys because they actually have to be able to perform. There are pills they can take, but it doesn’t do everything. I think it’s more mentally hard for women because it’s accepted for the guy to do porn, it’s more than accepted, it’s cheered on. It’s completely opposite for the women. It’s just different.
TNA: I’ve also noticed in films that they focus more on the female anyway.
AP: But, the female gets less work because they can shoot the guy every day, even if it’s the same guy because they don’t focus on the guy. It’s definitely more of a struggle for the female to continue to work. Most girls don’t make it as long as I have, especially if they haven’t been contracted.
TNA: Were you ever a contract girl?
AP: Nope. I’ve worked for certain companies more than others. I’ve done signings and stuff for other companies, but never an actual physical contract.
TNA: You’ve done pretty well for yourself.
AP: A lot of it too is that I don’t do drugs or waste my money on a coke habit or something. That always helps.
TNA: Is that stereotype true?
AP: Not entirely. It surprised me how many people aren’t doing drugs. But, there definitely are some. It’s more that they were already doing drugs before they got into the industry. Then when they get into the industry they have more money to spend on drugs, than [those who] get into the industry and start doing drugs. It’s not like the industry pushes them into doing drugs. Nobody is on set with a gun to your head saying, “Do this line of coke.” But, that’s kind of the idea that the general population has.
TNA: Something else the general population doesn’t know is that porn stars don’t really have health care. I heard that you feel very strong about that situation.
AP: Unfortunately, I’m only one person and I wish the companies would get behind it. Even the contract girls, the companies don’t offer them any health care. If you’re actually honest on an application you can’t get health care because you’re considered a high risk.
TNA: That’s crazy! I had no idea until recently. I just assumed that at least the contract girls had health care.
AP: I’ve asked a few of them and no. You would assume that they would be considered general employees.
TNA: It is a real physical job.
AP: If our bodies aren’t healthy, we can’t work. Not to talk bad about clinics, but they are not always well-staffed enough to take care of us. You can go in there and say you have chlamydia and yes they’ll give you some medicine, but that’s about the extent of it.
TNA: There’s no real treatment.
AP: If we cut our arm open on set, they can’t do anything about it. I was actually on a Wicked set one time and this talent pulled her toenail off. She was running on camera out of the house and her toenail got caught on the baseboard and pulled the hard toenail off. The director was being such an ass about it too. He was like, “Can we clean up the blood and wrap it up? We need to get this shot done before the light changes.” I was like, “Oh my God!” She was crying and make-up was running down her face.
TNA: That’s jacked up!
AP: Yeah! But, there’s not that much you can do about it. You can go to the emergency room and they’ll send you a $3,000 bill later.
TNA: Do have any hidden talents?
AP: I can paint. I think I’m a good writer. I have a really huge following in my blog. I guess that means I’m a good writer! I’ve been doing a lot of movie reviews. Everyone seems to really really like it. They’re real short and to the point. Maybe I’m the next Ebert.

Peach says she has learned a lot during her five years in porn, such as the anus has two holes.
TNA: You can start writing for The Naughty American!
AP: That would be awesome! I can’t do porn movies. I wouldn’t actually be paying attention to the movie. I would be like, “Why did they put the light there? Why didn’t she move her leg the other way? Why did they put her in that outfit?”
TNA: So when you watch porn….
AP: I don’t, only for educational purposes. I’ve actually been producing recently. I produced this girl/girl for West Coast and I had to watch all of the movies they have ever done for girl/girl. It wasn’t that much of them. It was only like five or six of them, but it was a whole day of watching girl/girl. I never really watched porn before, so it’s not really my thing. I definitely can’t now because I know everyone in it. It’s weird watching people you know.
TNA: I know this is personal, but how do you get off?
AP: Like I said, it’s more of a mental thing. I can physically get myself off. I do it during scenes, but it’s more satisfying if I can actually have a connection with that person and I care about them and it’s more on a mental level.
TNA: Have you fulfilled your fantasies in porn?
AP: I have this one fantasy. It’s kind of a sexual fantasy, but not really. I have tried to get directors into it. When I was in St. Maartens with Seymore Butts, he was going to try and fulfill it for me, but it didn’t work out. It’s so crazy because it’s so simple! I want to ride a horse bareback and naked. It’s not a sexual thing with the horse, but people have told me, especially women, that the first time they ever came was riding a horse because of the motion. I think it would be awesome and very Lady Godiva! I want to do a photo shoot like that. That’s probably the only fantasy left. I’ve done everything else.
TNA: That doesn’t seem too complicated.
AP: Oh, and I’ve never had sex in a club, not a real club. I’ve done scenes where we were kind of in a club but everyone knew what was going on. So I’ve never done sex in a real club where I’m trying to hide it.
TNA: I have! And it’s pretty hot! Trust me.
AP: That’s what everyone says!
TNA: But I did it when I was in Mexico. So, it’s different rules.
AP: My friend did it in Mexico too! Maybe you guys fucked each other!
TNA: It could have been.
AP: He was telling me about that earlier when he was in San Felipe. He said he was fucking some girl on the dance floor and then took her outside and everyone was taking pictures.
TNA: That wasn’t me. Mine was in Rosarito. I have fucked in San Felipe though.
AP: Rosarito!
TNA: What have been your best and worst dates ever?
AP: I had a date with this guy. This was way before I got into porn. It was just dinner and a movie, but throughout dinner he stayed on the phone with his mom and talked real obnoxiously. He brought a blanket into the movie theatres. A full-on blanket and fell asleep during the movie and snored. At the restaurant he was talking loud and people were actually looking at us funny. It was horrible. And he asked me out! That was the worst. Now for the best, I don’t know. I’ve had a lot of good dates. Let’s just skip that question.
TNA: OK. How does your family feel about what you do?
AP: They’d rather I be a brain surgeon or something, but they’re OK with it. They’re not like other porn star parents where they want to be my agents or anything. They’re not that involved. As long as they know I’m being safe and not in a drug habit they accept it. But, they definitely can’t wait until I get out of it.
TNA: That’s what I was going to ask you. How do they feel about you coming back home?
AP: My dad is the only one that knows. I haven’t told my mom yet. I’m spending the summer at the beach and just chilling before I leave. I’m going to probably drive to her house once summer ends and surprise her.
TNA: That’s cute!
AP: It’s hard for my dad not to tell her too.
TNA: Well, don’t tell her about this interview.
AP: I’m assuming she probably doesn’t read The Naughty American. But, that’s actually one of the reasons I told my parents I was in porn because they do watch porn. I was afraid they would watch one of my movies and totally freak out!
TNA: And ruin their experience.
AP: I know! It’s bad enough that one of my cousins caught me on Showtime. He called ma and was like, “I just saw you on Showtime. Why didn’t you warn me? You weren’t naked or anything but still….”
TNA: What kind of movies do you like?
AP: I like fantasy, comedy. I just saw “Iron Man”! It was awesome!
TNA: That’s what I’ve heard.
AP: I was a big fan of comic books when I was younger and most of the comic movies I don’t like. I hated “Spider-Man.” I thought it was cast horribly.
TNA: Really?
AP: The acting was good, but the characters playing the characters didn’t fit right. But, “Iron Man” was perfectly cast. It was an awesome movie!
TNA: Are you a big Robert Downey Jr. fan?
AP: No, but I am now.
TNA: Are you still into comics?
AP: Not really. I was a big X-Men fan. I was kind of Gothic when I was younger like in middle school and I loved “Johnny the Suicidal Maniac.” It was about this guy that goes around killing people and it was funny but in a Goth way. If that makes sense?
TNA: Have you thought about doing dark, kind of Goth porn?
AP: No. But, I have actually changed my look where I’m back to being darker. I’ve had some of my piercings redone. When I got in the industry they wanted me to look like a little girl so I had to take out them before every scene. So, I just took them out permanently. They wanted me to have lighter hair and look like a little girl. Now, I’ve got some of my piercings back. I’m getting my back tattooed, it’s kind of like a retirement present to myself. A television show is covering it. I’m getting angel wings from my shoulders all the way down to almost my thighs.
TNA: That’s cool. Is it “Miami Ink”?
AP: No. They charge. The show that is filming it is actually getting my wings for me for free.
TNA: That’s sweet!
AP: It is! I’m actually making a trip to New York before I retire and trying to work with Joanna Angel if my agent can work it out.
TNA: How exciting! Well, now that you’re going all alternative.
AP: I always was. I was just playing the part that people wanted me to play. I’ve always been true to who I am. I just looked a certain way because that was the way they wanted me to look.
TNA: Now you can look however you want to look.
AP: Exactly! I cut off my hair and I want this pierced.
