May Is National Masturbation Month
MAY 6, 2008
TORONTO (Wireless Flash) -- May is National Masturbation Month and masturbators shouldn't fear coming clean with their hobby.
Cory Silverberg, a sexual health educator and co-owner of the Toronto-based sex toy shop Come As You Are, feels rubbed the wrong way when it comes to society's judgmental view on masturbation.
So this month, Silverberg wants everyone to come out and be proud of their whack-off ways.
"Masturbation is important, and can be beautiful," Silverberg said. "I want people to talk about it. No one brags about their masturbation prowess, and they should. It's incredible, safe, and an easily accessible sexual practice."
Silverberg says regular wanking can teach someone how to pleasure themselves and a sexual partner, and says taking some extra alone time this month is a great way to get more hands-on bedroom experience.
"Obviously it's a great thing to practice all the time, but it's also important to get out there, talk, and teach about it," he said.
