DALLAS (TNA) – If you think the current wave of young pop princesses, Hollywood stars and hard-living rockers have wild and outrageous sex lives of a type that outshines anything that has come before them, it’s time to take a lesson in history – courtesy of the FBI.

Acording to secret FBI files, comedians Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were two of Hollywood's biggest porn collectors. If they were alive today, they'd probably enjoy this scene from MyFriendsHotMom.com

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act, the FBI has released thousands of pages of previously secret documents revealing how, from the 1940s to the 1970s, it spied on the sexual antics of numerous famous names of both cinema and stage.

Next to Laurel and Hardy, the most well-loved comedic duo of the Golden Age of Hollywood was, for many people, Abbott and Costello.

But how many of Bud and Lou’s adoring fans knew they were two of the biggest collectors of porno movies in Hollywood? Or that Costello was heavily into blistering hot, girl-on-girl action? The FBI certainly knew.

A secret report sent to FBI boss J. Edgar Hoover in 1945 reveals the facts. The document states: “In October of 1944, during the course of an investigation of a purported ring of obscene motion picture operators in Hollywood, one informant said that Lou Costello had the largest library of obscene film. The informant remarked that Costello ‘had it running out of his ears.’”

Two years later, the FBI learned more. A memo says: “Two prostitutes put on a lewd performance for Lou Costello while he was in Portland in connection with the premiere of a motion picture. The girls were paid $50 apiece for their part in the show."

Way to go, Lou!

Files also reveal that Bud Abbott’s collection of porn ran to an astonishing “1,500 reels of obscene motion pictures.”

And although the FBI tried to get the duo busted for peddling copies of their films, Bud and Lou always managed to remain one step ahead of the G-Men.

An FBI source once told investigators that they saw a film featuring Marilyn Monroe performing oral sex on an unidentified male.

But hot sex became an all too familiar theme for the FBI as it delved further into the world of the rich and the famous.

One of those most closely watched by Hoover was Ol’ Blue Eyes himself: Frank Sinatra.

An amusing reference is made in an April 17, 1947 FBI document to a prostitute who was complaining that Sinatra was refusing to pay her for her sexual services.

However, the fact that the hooker was so drunk on hooch at the time  meant that Sinatra received no satisfaction at all. Nevertheless, the woman was not about to let the matter drop.

Hoover’s agents secretly recorded that: “Assistant Special Agent in Charge A.H. Belmont advised that [the prostitute] paid a professional visit to Sinatra in his room in the Waldorf Astoria on April 11, 1947. She advised, however, that due to her drunken condition, she was unable to fulfill her engagement, but nevertheless expected to be paid a fee of $100.”

And then there was the strange and intriguing story of the King: Elvis Presley. While serving with the military in 1959, Presley began receiving dermatological care from a South African homosexual named Johannes Griessel-Landau, who provided the King certain “treatments.”

After Presley fired the man on Christmas Eve 1959 for “embarrassing” him, the outraged zit-exterminator threatened to reveal certain photographs that showed Presley in what is tantalizingly described in official files as “compromising situations.”

Precisely what those compromising situations might have been still remains unknown – outside of the FBI, at least.

On Feb. 16, 1965, an FBI document was secretly prepared that contained some truly explosive data on Hollywood babe Marilyn Monroe. It records the following.

“On 2/11/65, a source advised that on the previous date, 2/10/65, he had exhibited a motion picture which depicted deceased actress Marilyn Monroe committing a perverted act on an unknown male.

“According to source, he claimed that former baseball star Joe DiMaggio in the past had offered him $25,000 for this film, it being the only one in existence, but that source had refused the offer.”

Taking into consideration the fact that, within the FBI at the time, “a perverted act” officially meant that most dastardly of all acts – a blowjob – we are faced with the possibility that someone, somewhere is still sitting tight on this priceless piece of Hollywood head.

Born in Pittsburgh in 1928 to Slovak immigrants, Andrew Warhola found both fame and fortune decades later as Andy Warhol. And as someone whose life and career were often embroiled in controversy, it is not surprising that Warhol’s actions attracted the attention of the FBI.

FBI files reveal that when Jimi Hendrix served as a paratrooper, he was caught masturbating by members of his platoon.
The weird story began when an attempt was made to get Warhol prosecuted on charges of “Interstate Transportation of Obscene Matter” after he drove from Arizona to New York with footage of a movie that he had produced in 1968 called Lonesome Cowboys.

The setting for this masterfully absurd piece of cinematic erotica was the 80-acre Rancho Linda Vista Guest Ranch in the town of Oracle, Ariz.

A source in town who saw the movie being made quickly contacted the FBI, and a sex-filled report was filed with Hoover.

“One of the male actors was performing an act of cunnilingus on [a] girl who was on the ground. A second man was licking her breasts. A third male actor was trying to stick his hat up her rectum. A fourth actor was exposing himself and had his trousers dropped to his knees and trying to have her perform an act of fellatio on him.”

Needless to say, the stern-faced FBI was far from amused. Fortunately for Warhol, he escaped prosecution – on the grounds that “at no time did the camera show penetration.”

Born in Seattle on Nov. 27, 1942, Jimi Hendrix was one of the most influential and gifted electric-guitarists of all time. Tracks such as “Voodoo Chile,” “Purple Haze” and “Hey Joe” ensured Hendrix a dedicated, worldwide following that continues to thrive to this day, nearly 40 years after his death.

Before his music career kicked off, however, Hendrix undertook a brief tour of duty in the Army and became the subject of both military and FBI files.

Documentation makes it clear that Hendrix was not exactly what the military was looking for:  “Misses bed check; sleeps while supposed to be working; unsatisfactory duty performance. Requires excessive supervision at all times. Pvt. Hendrix plays a musical instrument during his off duty hours. This is one of his faults, because his mind apparently cannot function while performing duties thinking about his guitar.”

Apparently, the guitar was not the only instrument that Hendrix liked to play.

A now-declassified document says succinctly: “Was caught masturbating by members of platoon.”

Rock Hudson became one of the biggest box office draws of the 1950s and 1960s, thanks in part to his role in “Giant,”  in which he starred alongside screen rebel James Dean.

Throughout much of the 1970s, Hudson co-starred with actress Susan Saint James on the television show “McMillan and Wife,”  and later appeared in the long-running soap series, “Dynasty.”

Then, on July 25, 1985, shocking images of an AIDS-ravaged Hudson were broadcast around the world, along with the revelation that the Hollywood star had for decades lived a secret gay life.

It was a surprise to his millions of fans across the globe. But it was no surprise to the FBI.

In 1956, the FBI investigated the sexual shenanigans of baseball great Mickey Mantle after he was blackmailed by the husband of one of his sex partners.

In 1960, Hudson’s name turned up in an FBI document that, in a section titled “Hollywood Vice,” reported on the raid of a Los Angeles establishment that was engaged in arranging wild orgies for high profile, famous clients.

“Files of guests’ names were confiscated during the raid and as a result, many prominent individuals have reportedly been revealed as apparently participants in these orgies,” said the FBI.

Among those participants was Rock Hudson.

The glitterati of Hollywood aside, the elite of the sporting world also caught the attention of J. Edgar Hoover, including celebrated baseball star Mickey Mantle.

An FBI document of July 23, 1969 reveals that Hoover had penetrated Mantle’s secret world of sex and hookers.

“Our files reveal that information received in June, 1956, indicated that Mickey Mantle was ‘blackmailed’ for $15,000 after being found in a compromising situation with a married woman. Mr. Mantle subsequently denied ever having been caught in a compromising situation.”

When questioned again, a brazen Mantle clarified for the FBI that, yes, he had indeed “shacked up with many girls in New York City.” He was careful to reiterate, however, that he had “never been caught.”

The document added: “A confidential source, who has furnished reliable information in the past, advised in June, 1957, that a very prominent Washington, D.C., area gambler and bookmaker arranged dates for members of the New York Yankees baseball club at a Washington, D.C., house of prostitution. Allegedly, Mr. Mantle was one of the members of the team who was entertained at this house of prostitution.”

A note to Britney, Paris, Lindsay, et al: In view of the above, it may not just be the shutterbugs of Hollywood who are recording your every move.

And talking of Paris and Britney: Perhaps 50 or 60 years from now, and courtesy of the FBI, we’ll finally get to learn what really went on behind closed doors when the pair hit Sin City late last year.
