St. Patrick's Day Cocktails Shake Things Up
MARCH 16, 2008
SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) -- There are plenty of booze alternatives to typical green beer on St. Patrick's Day.
For example, there's a classy St. Paddy's cocktail called an "Emerald Isle" which shakes up gin, creme de
menthe, and a dash of bitters together for a green martini.
A concoction called "Everybody's Irish" blends smooth Irish whiskey with minty creme de menthe liqueur and herbs of Chartreuse.
For a round of St. Paddy's shots try "Nutty Irishman Shooters" which mix Irish cream liqueur like Bailey's or
Carolans with an equal amount of hazelnut liqueur such as Frangelico.
A "Dublin Handshake" pays homage to the capital of Ireland by mixing together Bailey's Irish Cream, Irish
whiskey, and sloe gin over ice.
Still, if you want to stick to brew during the festivities, a classic, Irish Guinness Stout is an easy
choice, or you can simply add a few drops of green food coloring to a pale ale to make green beer.
