Homebrewers Love Beer -- And Each Other

WIRELESS FLASH NEWS SERVICE

LONE OAK, Texas (Wireless Flash) -- Homebrewers are bringing beer and love to Texas.

The 22nd Annual Bluebonnet Brew-off is happening now in Irvine, Texas, and is a competition where folks from around the world battle by bringing their best homemade beer, with first round judging going down on March 8-9.

According to event director James Dorman, who brews his own brewski as well, the contest is "two days of beer and love, like a Woodstock of beer brewing."

"It's a gathering of friends, and everyone drinks and talks about beer, and racks each other's brains for ideas," he said. "There's a lot of love, and I'm sure the beer has something to do with it."

For anyone hoping to brew their own hops, Dorman says to beware of infections due to wild yeast and bacteria floating in the air because it can turn their beer into vinegar, for which they'd have to get "a bunch of fish and chips."
