The Slots Are On Fire In Sparks
JANUARY 22, 2008
DANIA, Fla. (Wireless Flash) -- The slot machines in Sparks, Nevada, are on fire!
"American Casino Guide" (Casino Vacations) is an annual list of the country's loosest and tightest slot machines, and in the last fiscal year, the slots in the Reno suburb saw gamblers cashing in with an average return of 95.28 percent.
In Las Vegas, the best bet is at the casinos on the Boulder Strip, which returned an average of 94.85 percent, compared to the glitz and glamour of the Strip slots, which only returned 93.19 percent.
On the other half of the coin, the stingiest slots are at the Casino Aztar, a riverboat casino in Caruthersville, Missouri, which paid out to its paddling patrons a meager 88.79 percent.
According to "Casino Guide" author Steve Bourie, staying local -- and cheap -- is your best bet to break the bank.
"Local, low-limit slots are always the best in the country," Bourie said. "If you play in the local casinos, you'll always do better, but when you play a slot machine, it's pure luck."
