St. Patrick's Day Is Big Business For Midget Leprechauns
MARCH 13, 2008
LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Little leprechauns are big business on St. Patrick's Day.![]()
TinyEntertainment.com A southern California company makes a lot of green around this time of year renting out leprechauns for parties.
Chris Fetterer runs tinyentertainment.com, a Southern California-based company that books midgets for parties, and for St. Paddy's Day, his little leprechauns are reaping the spoils of the shamrock.
Fetterer is sending out pint-size performers to more than 10 St. Paddy's parties, where they'll rake in $200 per hour to dress as leprechauns and dance Irish jigs.
But don't expect any terrific takes on the classic Irish tune "Danny Boy."
"Our guys will pretty much do anything," Fetterer said. "They'll sing if they're asked, but they're not necessarily great singers."
And even with the boozin' at a typical St. Paddy's bash, Fetterer is confident in the maturity of his little leprechauns.
"I do worry about them drinking, but they always use good judgement," he said. "None of them has ever gotten a DUI. If they call me, I tell 'em to sleep it off in their truck."
