HOUSTON (TNA) – The internet may be the best thing to happen to first date nookie since the invention of the automobile.

That’s one of the raunchy revelations that can be gleaned from a study that appears in the June issue of “Sexuality Research & Social Policy,” a journal published by the National Sexuality Research Center.

30 percent of women who meet
guys online have sex during the
first face-to-face encounter.

The study, which was conducted by Paige M. Padgett of the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston, Texas, surveyed women who have gone on dates with men they met through the internet.

Here’s the good part: 30 percent of those lusty ladies admitted having intercourse on the first date with a dude they met through online dating, and 27 percent engaged in oral sex.

An additional 5 percent were happy to have anal sex during that first face-to-face encounter, (although the study doesn’t mention whether they were truly face-to-face during that act).

Padgett says the reason the women felt comfortable enough to give it up on the first date is that they had done so much research on their prospective date that the first encounter didn’t seem like a first date.

Some of the ways that women pre-screen the guys who get to be part of the lucky 30 percent include doing background checks, and seeing how much personal information the fellow is willing to offer.

Ironically, most of the women surveyed were turned off when the guy pressed them for personal details.

Women who are considering meeting a guy they’ve talked with online will also ask leading questions, and then ask the same questions a few days later.

No, they’re not being stupid. They’re checking for inconsistent answers that might reveal if the man is lying about his relationship status.

Some women prefer to go with their gut, and will determine if a man is “safe” by looking at his photo. Others make their mind up how far they’ll go after talking with the guy on the phone.

Oh, and how they talk.

The research suggests that women will use pre-date e-mail and phone conversations to tell the guy how far they will or won’t go on a first date and, more important, their sexual history along with likes and dislikes.

A lot of the women surveyed will also try to bring up the topic of safe sex before the first encounter, but it really does no good, because only 23 percent of women who screw their internet amour on the first date use a condom.

Although 30 percent odds of getting lucky sound pretty good, it’s important to remember that nearly 15 percent of those wanton women report getting a sexually transmitted disease at least once.
