NEW YORK (Wireless Flash)—Actor Chris Noth is cleaning up the streets, and finding some unlikely and confused fans along the way.

But it's not badge business as usual for Noth, who, by day, patrols the mean streets on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

He's also starring in the upcoming "Sex and the City" movie—reprising his role as Mr. Big—and filming both roles gave him an interesting perspective on the true intent of his fans.

He discovered this one day while blocking traffic to film a "Law & Order" scene.

"I thought this truck driver was going to jump out and yell `You f***ers,' but instead he yelled, `Marry Carrie!'"

But when it was time to head to the "Sex" set, Noth had no problem leaving his hard-nosed detective character behind.

Noth says, "I don't think Detective Logan would have been much interested in any of it. He would have been like, `Who are these broads?'"

The mid-season finale of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" airs December 13 on USA Network.
