John Leguizamo Never Turns Down A Soldier’s Meal

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Not only are American servicemen willing to defend their fellow citizens, they’re willing to cook for them as well.

That’s what actor John Leguizamo discovered while doing research for the Spike TV mini-series, “The Kill Point.”

 'Kill Point' star John
Leguizamo won't turn
down a meal made by a
soldier.

Leguizamo plays a veteran of the Iraq War, and prepared for the part by hanging out with real-life vets – and even sat down for a home-cooked meal with them.

“I didn’t want to discredit war veterans in the series, so I talked to some vets one night about their experiences and they offered to cook me dinner.

“We ate together and the whole time I was thinking, ‘I can’t believe they risked their lives for me and they’re still cooking me dinner. I should be cooking for them!’”

Although Leguizamo enjoyed breaking bread with the vets, he admits being nervous while eating their home-cooked meal.

“They cooked some London broil and it was great, but even if I didn’t like it, I would’ve eaten it anyway,” Leguizamo said. “When you’re eating something a soldier makes for you, you’ve gotta love it no matter what!”

“The Kill Point” series finale airs on Sunday (Aug. 26).
